Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW Consultation on the Strategic Plan for Mental Health Reform

From 1 July 2012, NSW has had a Mental Health Commission which will play a key role in improving the mental health system in the state by the development of a Strategic Plan for reform.

 The NSW Mental Health Commission is an independent statutory body. The Commission is led by a full time Commissioner (John Feneley) with four Deputy Commissioners; Bradley Foxlewin, Fay Jackson, Alan Rosen and Robyn Shields. At least one Commissioner will have a lived experience of mental illness.

Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW Inc. (‘ARAFMI’) believes that the NSW Mental Health Commission can make improvements through its Strategic Plan that will benefit mental health service consumers and their carers across NSW. You can assist to develop the Plan by telling ARAFMI what the NSW Mental Health Commission should do to improve services for carers and the people they care for. ARAFMI will be asking carers for their views about priorities for reform, at our first consultation to be held at 

9:00am on the 13th of August, 2013 at Bradfield Park Carer’s Program,

located at 41 Alfred St, Milson’s Point.
